Whitewater Kayaking
Depending on water levels, kayakers can paddle Cain, Cooper, and North Chickamauga Creeks. Cain Creek and North Chickamauga Creek are both considered classic runs for those familiar with southeastern kayaking, offering miles of consistent class IV-V drops. The upper sections of these runs should be taken seriously. If going for the first time, make sure the water level is reasonable, give yourself plenty of time, and go with someone who is familiar with the rapids and hazards.
The Bowling Alley section of North Chickamauga Creek offers a more accessible whitewater experience. This 1-mile section of class III-IV rapids can be run at a variety of water levels with no shuttle required. Local paddlers love this section for its easy access and variety of both creek and play features.
