Children's Activities
Watershed Maze
This maze simulates North Chickamauga Creek as it flows to the Tennessee River. Children
participate by trying to find their way through the maze to reach the river. Along the
way, they encounter things that often happen to waterways as they flow downstream, and
will learn the importance of keeping the waterways clean.
Let's Plant Wildflowers
Participants will be given potting soil and flower seeds to plant. Volunteers will talk
about the importance of planting native vegetation, and each child will be able to take
his/her potted plant home.
This Is For The Birds
Pinecone bird feeders will be made. Volunteers will explain the significance of protecting
and preserving wild lands for wildlife. Each bird feeder will have a string tied to it so
that the children can hang it on a branch at home.
No charge. Donations are appreciated.
